(Administrative works)

 
  1. Job Descriptions
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for special events, conferences, meetings, briefings, receptions, and other official functions
  • Flights and hotels, short-term apartment arrangements related works
  • Banking related matters (bank account openings and other related works) for officials
  • Draft letters and documents (Excel sheets) in English
  • Translation of official letters and documents between Japanese and English
  • Assist in coordinating logistics with airport immigration officers, Visas and passports.
  • Arrangements and negotiations with third-party companies and firms
  • Assist in any other duties flexibly as requested
  1. Required Status
  • Candidates must be US citizen or non-US citizen currently with a legal status that allows him/her to stay for an extended period, preferably on permanent basis, and legally work in the US.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communications skills, computer skills (Microsoft (Excel)) are required. Preferably, Japanese language skills.

     4. Status

Full-time local staff

     5. Working days and hours

Monday through Friday (5 days a week) 7 hrs and 45 mins for working hours.

     6. Employment Period

Basically 2 years (thereafter with possible extension). 3 months’ probation period required.

     7. Salary

Commensurate with applicant’s work experience.

Job Description

(1) Job Descriptions
• Coordinate receptions and official meals at the Residence with Chefs and other staff.
• Serving foods and drinks at such events and cleaning up thereafter.
• Managing residence staff.
• Inventory control of household / official function goods and communicate with merchants.

(2) Required Status
• Candidates must be US citizen or non-US citizen who has lawful permanent resident status in US.
• Excellent English verbal and writing communications skills must.
• Experience as a butler at personal residence or a server at restaurant/hotel more than 5 years must.
• Fair Japanese verbal and writing communication skill preferred.
• Interested in Japanese Culture preferred.

(3) Job Locations
Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations (Manhattan, New York)

(4) Position
A full time and non-exempt position.

(5) Working Days and Hours
5 days/ week, 8h45m (with an unpaid one-hour lunch break) / day.
+ Overtime when official functions are held

(6) Salary/Benefit
Commensurate with applicant’s work experience.
Group Health Insurance. Retirement founds assist (if applicable)
