(As delivered)

Thank you, and thank you for the presentations by the briefers. I will make my remarks brief.

First, I would like to touch upon Japan’s assistance to Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the aggression, Japan has provided Ukraine more than 12 billion US dollars for humanitarian, recovery, and reconstruction assistance. Japan will continue to steadfastly and seamlessly support Ukraine's economic development, from emergency assistance and daily livelihood reconstruction to more advanced stages of industrial rebuilding.

With winter approaching, the urgent need for heating and shelter is paramount, particularly for vulnerable populations such as women, children, and the elderly. In response to Russia's attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities, Japan has already supplied nine large transformers and will soon deliver two more, along with cogeneration turbines, small generators, and box-shaped sandbags to protect critical power infrastructure.

Japan also expresses concern over Ukraine becoming one of the most heavily mined countries in the world due to Russian aggression. To address this, Japan will host a mine action conference next year, further supporting Ukraine’s mine action efforts.

Finally, Japan reiterates our clear position to urge Russia to cease its aggression and immediately and unconditionally withdraw from the internationally recognized territory of Ukraine. Japan’s firm support for Ukraine is unwavering. Japan continues to stand with the people of Ukraine.

Thank you.
