Thank you, Mr. Vice President, Madame Deputy Secretary General,
 
I would like to express appreciation to the SG and his team for working on the comprehensive report. Here, I would like to make two comments.
 
First, we welcome the progress made in the implementation of the UNDS reform.
As indicated in the SG’s QCPR report, the increase of efficiency gains reached 42.6 million dollars in 2024. We recognize the concrete results in terms of improving efficiency and the efforts undertaken.
 
In addition to these efforts, further effort should be made to unlock additional development financing, such as leveraging private capital and enhancing collaboration with the IFIs.
 
Second, Japan supports the UN’s effort to strengthen the RC System from the perspective of advancing the HDP Nexus.
As Japan promotes the HDP Nexus as an integrated approach to sustaining peace and achieving sustainable development, we believe that the RCs play a pivotal role in operationalizing this approach. Japan underscores the importance of continuing to assess the RC system’s performance from this perspective. We encourage further enhancement of the effectiveness of RCs, through appropriate placement and alignment with diverse priorities.
 
In conclusion, Japan reaffirms its commitment to working hand-in-hand with the UN to achieve the SDGs and leaving no one behind.
