Awards Ceremony for the 20th Student Haiku Contest

On Saturday, June 7th, the Awards Ceremony for the Student Haiku Contest 2025 was hosted by the United Nations International School (UNIS), the Northeast Council of Teachers of Japanese (NECTJ) together with the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations in a hybrid format.
At the venue, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, and SDGs Divisions were presented along with comments and feedback from judges. Ambassador UMETSU attended the Awards Ceremony and gave remarks and presented the SDGs Division Awards.
The 20th Annual Haiku Contest held this year received 1456 Haiku in total from students and teachers all over the U.S., as well as from Europe, Africa, and Japan.
