A Ceremony of Conferment upon H.E. Mr. Héctor Vasconcelos, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the United Nations

On November 4, a conferment ceremony was held at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations to present a decoration to H.E. Mr. Héctor Vasconcelos, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the United Nations, as part of the Spring 2025 (7th year of Reiwa) Conferment of Decorations by the Government of Japan.
H.M. Emperor of Japan conferred the decoration upon H.E. Mr. Vasconcelos in recognition of his enormous contributions to strengthening Japan and Mexico’s bilateral relations and friendship. Ambassador Yamazaki presented the Order and certificate to Mr. Vasconcelos on this occasion. The outline of the conferment is as follows:

In his congratulatory remarks, Ambassador Yamazaki introduced Mr. Vasconcelos’ contributions to the strengthening of the bilateral relations as the former Chair of Mexico’s Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, and as one of Mexico’s most valuable experts on Japan. Ambassador Yamazaki expressed his commitment of further cooperation with Mr. Vasconcelos, in his capacity as Permanent Representative of Mexico, to strengthen the bilateral relations within the UN. He also conveyed his heartfelt wishes for Mr. Vasconcelos’ continued success.
