Japan applauded the Statement to the Press by the President of the Security Council on 8 December 2003 condemning "in the strongest terms" the repeated attacks in Iraq against Japanese, Spanish and other nationals in Iraq; expressing condolences to the victims and their families; urging Member States to "fully cooperate in the efforts to find and bring justice to" those responsible; and reaffirming "the need to implement fully Resolution 1511", urging "all states to cooperate to that end".
