On 22 June 2007, a chamber music concert was held at Ambassador Kenzo Oshima’s residence. The concert was organized as a token of the Mission of Japan’s appreciation to those who contributed to making the event to honor the Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on 25 May a great success. More than 30 representatives from the organizing missions, UN Secretariat, sponsors, and the AAC Board of Trustees enjoyed eighty minutes of classical music followed by a buffet dinner.
The concert featured the best of the Asian Artists & Concerts, Inc. young musicians, playing dynamic pieces by Satoko Ishize, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Felix Mendelssohn. Particularly impressive was the intensity of the finale by Mendelssohn, arousing great passion and power in the musicians.
Among those present was H.E. Mr.Choi Young-jin of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Tim Andree, the Asian Artists & Concerts president, and Maestro Atsushi Yamada, the Asian Artists & Concerts music director and conductor. |
