During the month of November, the Permanent Mission of Japan held briefings for students from Watertown High School and the Greenwich Japanese School.
The students from Watertown High School are representing Japan in the Model UN of the World Affairs Council Connecticut. Mr. Motoyuki Ishize, First Secretary, gave a briefing on such topics as terrorism, development, human trafficking, and infectious disease.
Two classes, each from 9th grade and 6th grade, from the Greenwich Japanese School were respectively briefed by Minister Mari Miyoshi and First Secretary Akiko Sugita. The students learned about Japan’s activities at the United Nations, including Security Council matters and UN reform.
*The Permanent Mission of Japan is pleased to assist students who wish to learn about Japan’s role in the United Nations. However, the Mission reserves the right to grant requests for briefings at its discretion. |
