On 16 April, H.E. Mr. Tsuneo Nishida, Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations, conducted a stakeout with Japanese correspondents after the Security Council adopted a Presidential Statement (S/PRST/2012/13) on North Korea’s launch of a missile.

At the stakeout, Ambassador Nishida said that the Presidential Statement corresponds with the views Japan had been advocating and that Japan strongly supports and welcomes the Statement.  Furthermore, he stated Japan will continue working closely with related countries to address issues regarding the implementation of Security Council Resolutions on North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs.
