Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr.Vuk Jeremić, President of the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly

  1. His Excellency Mr. Vuk Jeremić, President of the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly, will visit Japan from Sunday, August 4th to Wednesday, August 7th upon the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
  2. During his stay in Japan, Mr. Jeremić is scheduled to exchange views with various high-level political figures including the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Fumio Kishida on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation, Security Council reform and other issues. Mr. Jeremić is also scheduled to exchange views with business people and attend the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6th.
  3. It is hoped that this visit to Japan by Mr. Jeremić will further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the United Nations.

Note: Mr. Vuk Jeremić, former Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, has been President of the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly for one year starting from September 18, 2012. His visit will be the third consecutive time as official visit following the visit by H.E. Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, former Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations and the President of the 66th session of the United Nations General Assembly in November 2011.
