On Wednesday November 4th, Permanent Mission of Japan to the UN co-hosted a Kimono Fashion Show “Beyond KIMONO 2015” with Be JAPON.

“Beyond KIMONO” is Be JAPON’s original spectacle show to present Japanese culture to the world. Based on the fashion show of dresses made of vintage Kimono fabric, Beyond KIMONO is also collaborated with live music, dance and projected image.

At the start of the event, Ambassador Yoshikawa, Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations, made an opening speech. Models dressed in colorful dresses walking down the red carpet fascinated the audience. Background music performed by the pianist, Mr. Gohei Nishikawa, also added atmosphere to the scene.

The event was attended by approximately 70 guests, including some of Permanent Representatives and diplomats. There was a reception following the performance, during which the audience were able to interact with the performers.
