Lecture to Nagano High School Students by Secretary Hideyuki Fukuda

On March 19, forty students from Nagano high school visited the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations to receive a lecture by Secretary Hideyuki Fukuda.

Secretary Fukuda explained the principal organs and their role in the United Nations. He also explained Japan’s position on a number of topics that are dealt with at the United Nations. He touched upon Japan’s presence in the United Nations with a specific focus on PKO. Questions and answers took place through the entire lecture, and following the lecture, he answered a lot of questions from students regarding a number of topics, including the Security Council reform and international counter-terrorism.
