Piano Concert by Ms. Fuzjko Hemming on the event of the 59th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)

On Monday, March 16, 2015, the Permanent Mission of Japan, UN Women, Fuzjko Hemming’s Office, and the Yamaha Corporation collaboratively held a piano concert by Ms. Fuzjko Hemming, as a side event to CSW. Her performance began following the opening remarks by Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan, Mr. Yoshifumi Okamura, and Deputy Executive Director of UN Women, Ms. Lakshmi Puri. The event was attended by approximately 220 guests, including Mr. Baklai Temengil, Minister of Community and Culture in Palau, Ms. Hiroko Hashimoto, Representative of Japan for the 59th UN Commission on the Status of Women, six Permanent Representatives, and fourteen Deputy Permanent Representatives. Ms. Hemming received a standing ovation from the audience. As someone who has overcome personal hardships and encouraged women throughout the world, Ms. Hemming’s performance added greater meaning to this year’s Commission of the Status of Women. |
