Lecture to Students from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee by Minister-Counsellor Higashi

       On June 12th, 21 students from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee visited the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations to receive a lecture by Minister-Counsellor Higashi.

 

       Minister-Counsellor Higashi began his lecture by introducing the general background of peace-building and explaining in detail the important components of reconciliation process based on his experience with UNAMA in Afghanistan. Furthermore, he introduced his commitment in the implementation of offshore wind power plant project in Fukushima as a recovery process after the 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami.

 

        Minister-Counsellor Higashi closed his lecture by raising the future challenges of mediation and answered questions from the students regarding Japan’s recent diplomatic activities.
