Opening Ceremony of the Peace Run 2014

Minister Shinsuke Shimizu attended the Opening Ceremony of The Peace Run, which was held in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza on April 10.
At the opening ceremony, Minister Shimizu recited the poem ‘O Dreamers of Peace’ in Japanese, along with representatives from 205 other countries who read the same poem in their respective languages. They are now applying for official recognition as the world record by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Peace Run is a global relay that seeks to promote international friendship and understanding. The runners will run in Japan, from Aomori to Fukushima, between September 26 and October 6, this year.
