Lecture to Kiddie International Club Students by Ambassador Jun Yamazaki

28 March 2014

On 28 March, 25 students from Kiddie International Club of Fukui, Japan visited the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations to receive a lecture by Ambassador Jun Yamazaki.

Ambassador Yamazaki first gave an overview of the United Nations, as well as the nature of the international community. He then focused on the gender issue. He pointed out the need to improve women’s education and empowerment. He also emphasized the importance of taking interest in what is going on in the world. He suggested that the students should try to proactively find out what is in the news.

The students asked not only UN-related questions, but also more general questions to which Ambassador Yamazaki responded drawing on his personal and professional experience.
