Lecture to Shizuoka Salesio Junior High School Students by Counsellor Hisao Nishimaki

On March 20th, 67 students from Shizuoka Salesio Junior High School visited the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations, and received a lecture by Counsellor Hisao Nishimaki.

 

As opening remarks, Counsellor Nishimaki gave a brief introduction on the United Nations and the role of its primary organs. He then gave a feedback on the essay presented by the students. Furthermore, he gave a detailed explanation on the Security Council and the Peacekeeping Operations by raising specific examples. He also made some remarks on the abduction issue. Counsellor Nishimaki concluded his lecture by giving advice to the students and stressing the importance of keeping interests in what is going on in the world today.
