Lecture to Kyoto University of Foreign Studies Students by Counsellor Fukahori

On February 27, thirteen students from the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, located in Japan, visited the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations to receive a lecture by Counsellor Ryo Fukahori.
During the lecture, Counsellor Fukahori explained the principal organs of the United Nations, as well as the difference in decision making methods between the Security Council and the General Assembly. He touched upon Japan’s presence in the United Nations with a specific focus on international security. Lastly, he discussed Japan’s contributions to the United Nations, demonstrating the active and involved role Japan plays in the international community.
Following the lecture, Counsellor Fukahori answered questions from students regarding a number of topics, including Security Council reform, among others.
