Lecture to Rutgers University Students by Minister-Counsellor Higashi

        On February 21, thirty-one students from Rutgers University visited the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations to receive a lecture by Minister-Counsellor Daisaku Higashi.


        During the lecture, Minister-Counsellor Higashi explained his experience with UNAMA in Afghanistan, and his involvement in the field of mediation and peace-building in Japan and Afghanistan. He also introduced the seminar “Inclusivity in Rebuilding States” which took place in June 2013 in NY.


        After the lecture, he answered questions from students regarding the present conditions of the United Nations and evaluated the mediation and peace-building efforts by the United Nations.
