Briefing by Minister Nakamae to Classic Live for the United Naitons Japan

On June 18, 36 members of Classic Live for the United Nations Japan, who participated in “Our Blue Planet : Play with Music” a musical performance based on the Earth Charter, attended a briefing by Mr. Takahiro Nakamae, Minister at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations.
In the briefing, Minister Nakamae described the relationship between Japan and the UN, and the diplomatic policies of Japan at the UN. He also gave an explanation of the major diplomatic issues that Japan is expected to address at the UN. He reminded the group of the importance for Japanese people to support and assist the international community, especially in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 2011 when Japan received much support and assistance from the members of the international community who expressed their solidarity during the unprecedented disaster.
During the Q & A session which followed the briefing, the Classic Live for the UN Japan asked questions on ODA, the Earth Charter, etc.
